“In The Beginning”

Mark, the Managing Director, of Arridge Garage Doors Ltd. “found” garage doors in a Job Centre in Wolverhampton in 1989. As a Design Technology (B. Ed. Hon’s) student at Wolverhampton Polytechnic he took a summer job as a garage door fitter. Having previously been a furniture maker he had the basic skills. Four months later, when 3rd year studies began, he carried on doing garage doors from the boot and roof of his Fiat 127 in order to make ends meet.

“The Middle Bit”

Graduation, 6 months teaching in Siberia, getting married and getting a teaching job did not hamper his side line of garage doors. Teaching became a bit stale and stifling so Mark went full time with the business of supplying and installing all types of garage doors in Shropshire, North Wales, Cheshire and Powys. The odd customer further afield purchased garage doors on a supply only basis with Mark going through sizes, fitting tips etc. very carefully over the telephone to ensure things went smoothly for the customer when the door arrived.

The supply only side of the business grew and grew. Google advertising, 12 web sites later a move to special purpose offices and professional full time staff (see Meet the Team) has made Arridge Garage Doors Ltd. Britains leading garage door discounter. The only ISO9001 approved on-line garage door company.

“Now”

“Every customer, whether they are down the road, in Lands End or John O’ Groats gets the same level of help and attention with their garage door as my very first customer did. The customer needs to be advised, informed and happy” says Mark.
