Gliderol Garage Doors, an Australian Company, have 26 factories dotted around the world. Gliderol hold the world patent for the continuous curtain roller garage door, which it has been making since the 1960s. In 1986, it opened a factory in County Durham U.K. and has become a major player in the U.K. roller door market. Due to continued success, it opened a new purpose-made factory in the year 2000 with capacity to manufacture 6000 roller garage doors per month. In 2009, it launched the Safe-T-Glide and Insul-Glide Gliderol Sectional garage door and the Roll-A-Glide Gliderol Insulated roller garage door. This was in response to the increasing demand for draught-proof and insulated garage doors in the U.K. After a couple of years of teething troubles, by October 2010 the sectional garage door was modified (now running on a much improved running system) and seems to be increasing in popularity. The only sectional door manufacturer to offer a single skin door with a laminated timber woodgrain finish. Excellent value for money.
The continuous curtain roller is certainly Gliderol's most popular product. Gliderol has allowed other companies to manufacture it's design of roller door under licence, such as the Cardale Steel-line door. The plastisol finish has a 10 year guarantee, available in numerous colours at no extra cost and two foil laminate woodgrain colours (Golden Oak and Rosewood) at a 20% price premium. All roller doors are made-to-measure at no extra cost. Gliderol brought out the Mini Roller Door in 2009, allowing the installation of a roller door in low headroom situations.
The Gliderol roller door can be manual or be fitted / retro-fitted with a Glidermatic motor to make it fully automatic. The Gliderol Rolmatic 2 is a universal "outboard" motor, designed to fit almost all makes and models of roller door upto approx 12 square metres of surface area. Ideal to retrospectively automate an existing door. Rolling code technology ensures high security. Easy to install.

The Gliderol Light Industrial door comes with a chain hoist, apart from the very smallest ones, which simply push up / pull down. Can be fitted with a heavier duty light industrial Glidermatic electric motor. A low cost large door, ideal for light industrial units, farm buildings, workshops etc. Not a high security door.
Lead time on Gliderol doors approx. 2½ weeks.
